About the instructor:
Ashley Mintz is a visual artist residing and creating in Nashville, Tennessee. Originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Mintz moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting. Shortly after moving and being immersed in the visual arts, she changed her focus to more tactile forms of art like painting, bookbinding and collage.
Mintz has had her original art used in the background of films and in solo and group exhibitions at The Nashville International Airport (BNA), Vanderbilt Divinity School (Nashville, TN), The Customs House Museum (Clarksville, TN), the Frist Art Museum (Nashville, TN) and the Clemson Area African American Museum (Clemson, SC), among other places. She also has works in several library collections including a painting in the Metro Arts Lending Library collection in Nashville, TN and a collaborative book with her mother that she illustrated in three different libraries in their Special Collections.
Mintz currently attends Tennessee State University where she is pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art. She is obsessed with bookbinding, reading short stories and thrifting. She uses art and writing as a way to inspire and encourage others in healing and growing, as art has always done for her.
This workshop is available for Ages 14 and up, with a parent or guardian present.
